Claro Healthcare 20/20: Accurately Reflecting Patient Quality of Care for the Inpatient Population Core CDI Curriculum

This course provides the foundational knowledge that helps provide background and sets the stage of how the healthcare industry particularly Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) work, the laws and legislation that drive healthcare policy and the importance of quality indicators such as severity of illness/risk of mortality impacts patient profiles which are driven by clinical documentation and coding rules/regulations. The course also reviews each body system or MDC as it relates to the adult patient population and provides extensive clinical knowledge by reviewing and defining disease classifications for disease processes, related medications, lab work, current therapeutic treatments/evaluations, dynamic relations with other comorbid or secondary illnesses and evaluate appropriate/ specific documentation requirements and coding guidelines that apply. In addition, clinical teachings are reinforced with practical application using clinical case studies. This content is reviewed and updated annually. Contact hours are commensurate with the total time of session attendance and will be awarded upon successful completion of all modules with a score of 80% or higher and completion of the course evaluation survey.
