CDI Insight: Accurately Reflecting Quality of Care Through the Use of Hierarchical Condition Categories
This course provides learners with an overview of the diagnosis-based risk adjustment model Health and Human Services Hierarchical Condition Categories (HCC). The course reviews the common diagnoses included in each hierarchical condition category, including signs and symptoms, diagnostics, treatments, evaluation, and relationships to other comorbid secondary conditions along with the documentation requirements and coding guidelines that apply. This course utilizes PowerPoint slides, verbal discussion, practical application exercises, and case study reviews. Contact hours are commensurate with the total time of session attendance and will be awarded upon successful completion of the course evaluation survey.
